How Glotracker Works
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
Your Glotracker continuously broadcasts an encrypted signal. Nearby Apple devices — like iPhones and iPads — pick up this signal and anonymously upload your tracker's location to Apple's servers. You can then see your Glotracker's approximate location anytime in the Find My app.
Apple's Find My Network
Even when your Glotracker is far from your own devices, it stays findable. It leverages the hundreds of millions of Bluetooth-enabled Apple devices around the world to relay its location back to you. Every ~2 seconds, your Glotracker broadcasts a signal that nearby iPhones pick up and securely upload — only you, as the linked Apple ID owner, can see the location.
End-to-End Encrypted for Your Privacy
Your privacy is protected by design. Location data is encrypted using a public key that any device can receive, but no one can decode. Only you hold the private key needed to decrypt and verify the data. Not even Apple can access your Glotracker's raw location — keeping your information completely private from third parties.
How to Get Started
- Link your Glotracker to your Apple ID in the Find My app.
- Slip it into your wallet, cardholder, passport sleeve, or any valuables.
- Your Glotracker broadcasts continuously in the background.
- Nearby Apple devices pick up the signal and securely relay your location.
- Open Find My to see where your item is — and when you're close, trigger a sound to find it instantly.
